⬛ CONTEXT & PROBLEM
HNG Tech is a tech hub focused on training, projects, and talent development for tech enthusiasts and professionals. The goal was to design a full website that communicates the brand, provides detailed program information, and supports users in navigating projects and resources easily.
The challenge was that the existing content was scattered, the hierarchy of information was unclear, and users could feel lost when trying to understand the offerings. I asked myself:
- How can we make a large volume of content feel structured and approachable?
- How do we highlight the most important programs and resources without overwhelming first-time visitors?
- How can the website support users with varying needs, from students exploring programs to partners seeking collaboration?
⬛ DISCOVERY & RESEARCH
I started with:
- Reviewing existing content, analytics, and user feedback to identify where users struggled.
- Conducting benchmarking against similar tech platforms to understand how they structured information and showcased projects.
- Mapping user journeys for key audiences: learners, mentors, and partners.
Reflection: Early research revealed that users didn’t just need content—they needed a sense of orientation and guidance. This highlighted a key Senior-level skill: designing ecosystems, not just pages.
